Our Philosophy

We create more than objects—
we create experiences shaped by time and nature.
At Seedton, each piece—whether worn or placed in the home—begins with time.

We work with natural lacquer, a material that cannot be hurried.
It responds to air, humidity, and patience.
Each layer must be applied by hand, then left to cure slowly, in its own rhythm.

This process does not seek perfection in uniformity,
but a quiet vitality—something shaped over time, rather than imposed.

No two pieces are ever identical.

Rooted in a long exploration of natural aesthetics,
our work is informed by years of living and making close to nature.

Not as inspiration alone, but as a way of understanding rhythm, restraint, and balance.

We do not accelerate what should take time.
We do not produce in excess.

Because we believe the objects we live with should not be temporary.

They should hold time,
and remain—quietly, over years.

Rooted in Nature

Seedton was founded by Chen Ruping in 2014.

What began as a small studio in the city has since taken root in the forest, where nature is not a backdrop, but part of everyday life and making.

We create objects for living, and jewelry that rests against the skin. Each piece carries traces of its origin—the stillness of the woods, the discipline of handwork, the passage of time.

Our work grows out of a long exploration of natural aesthetics. Through books, exhibitions, and talks, this exploration has extended beyond the studio, forming a quiet but enduring cultural.

Our Vision

At Seedton, we are not driven by trends or seasons, but by a belief: that craft can reconnect us with nature.

Each piece holds the presence of the maker—subtle, but unmistakable. Not as a statement, but as a quiet continuity between material, hand, and wearer.

We work with a small team of skilled lacquer artisans, preserving a craft that requires time, precision, and care.

What we hope to offer is simple:
a sense of calm, a closeness to nature, and objects that remain with you—gently, over time.
